Our team: Dominic Redfern

Dominic Redfern, Director, was the co-founder of Altima Partners LLP in 2004. Altima Partners currently manages in excess of USD 3 billion globally. Dominic is the executive director of Altima Monaco where, amongst other Altima responsibilities, he is the portfolio manager of the Altima Global Special Opportunities Fund which specialises in illiquid equity investment.

Dominic has a strong record of investing in and operating companies in Emerging Europe. Having jointly set-up the Deutsche Bank Equity Special Situations Group ("DBESSG") in 1999, among other major transactions, Dominic was instrumental in the privatisation, consolidation and subsequent successful sale of Balkanpharma in 1999-2001, during which period he was a board member. From 2001-2005 Dominic was a director of Ceske Radiokomunikace, a leading Czech telco operator which was privatised by the DBESSG team in 2001 and subsequently managed by Altima. He also served as a director of Ceske Radiokomunikace’s affiliate T-Mobile Czech during this period. Ceske Radiokomunikace was sold in late 2005 for EUR 1.19 bil, the largest private equity transaction ever in the Czech Republic. Dominic was a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank AG, and before that a Director of Morgan Grenfell. Dominic has a law degree from Oxford University and is a Certified Investment Manager under the Securities and Investment Institute.
